Defeated the Atlanta Silverbacks 2-0 at Silverbacks Park ATLANTA, GA Oct. 25, 2014 – The Carolina RailHawks (11W-4D-11L, 37 Pts.) needed a win in Atlanta to keep their postseason dreams alive and with two goals from Nacho Novo and Devon Sandoval the RailHawks were able to do just that, as they rolled to victory over the Silverbacks (6W-5D-15L, 23 Pts.).  ‪The RailHawks were unable to achieve any type of offensive flow in the first portion of the first half, but momentum swung in the favor of the RailHawks after goalkeeper, Scott Goodwin, came up with a tremendous penalty kick save on Silverbacks forward, Jaime Chávez in the 35th minute of play. CLEMSON, SC Oct. 24, 2014 – The Clemson men’s soccer team and the 11th ranked Louisville Cardinals played to a scoreless draw Friday night at Louisville’s Lynn Stadium. After tonight’s result, Clemson’s record stands at 8-6-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the ACC. Clemson junior Kyle Fisher scored in the final seconds of the second overtime period, but the goal was waived off after a penalty was called against Clemson in the box. The Tigers and Cardinals were tied with Syracuse for the lead in the ACC’s Atlantic Division prior to the match. Now Clemson and Louisville are in a two-way tie for second in the division. The Cougars (5-11-1, 1-6-1 CAA) were unable to complete the unenviable task of solving the nation’s best defense, as NU goalkeeper Paige Burnett and company posted the Huskies’ 13th shutout of the season. CLEMSON, SC Oct. 18, 2014 – The 21st-ranked Clemson women’s soccer team defeated Miami by a score of 2-0 on Saturday night at Historic Riggs Field. The Tigers improved to 11-2-2 overall and 4-2-1 in ACC play with the win, while the Hurricanes dropped to 2-12-1 (0-6-1 ACC). With the victory, Clemson now has 11 wins on the season. It is the first 11-win season for the program since 2006. That Tiger team advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals, and was ranked in a tie for 14th in the final national poll. CLEMSON, SC Oct. 7, 2014 – The Clemson men’s soccer team could not overcome an early score from No. 7 Charlotte Tuesday night at Historic Riggs Field, falling 1-0 to the 49ers. Clemson’s record now stands at 5-6-0 overall and 2-2-0 in ACC play on the season. Charlotte’s goal came off the right foot of Dominic Bonilla in the seventh minute, his fourth of the season. By: Troy Baranik, Sports Information LAURINBURG, NC Oct. 7, 2014 – The St. Andrews University men’s soccer team continued their brilliant season as they won their sixth straight game on Tuesday afternoon holding off a late rally to defeat Tennessee Wesleyan College 2-1 in Laurinburg. The Knights used goals from senior midfielder Preston Rolle (SR/Freeport, Bahamas) and freshman Jon Ander (FR/Bilboa, Spain) to improve to 8-1 on the season and 4-1 in the conference. St. Andrews now sits in second place in the Appalachian Athletic Conference behind only undefeated and 14th ranked Union College.
