Charleston, SC Feb. 23, 2013 – The Chicago Fire claimed their first Carolina Challenge Cup championship with a 1-1 tie against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday, February 23.   After a scoreless first half of play, Chicago finally got things going at the 57’ with a left footed blast that nicked the crossbar on it’s way to the back of the net from Maicon Santos. Match benefitting the Kirk Urso Memorial Fund now being played at UNC Greensboro Soccer Stadium COLUMBUS, OH Feb. 23, 2013 — Due to inclement weather, Sunday’s inaugural Kirk Urso Memorial Match in Greensboro, N.C. has been moved to the UNC Greensboro Soccer Stadium.
