COLUMBIA, SC July 19, 2014 – In the First Annual Innersole Celebrity Softball Fun-Raiser, South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley and her charity hosted an entertaining event for both players and fans at Carolina Softball Stadium Saturday night. Staley’s team picked up the 11-5 win in regulation, but South Carolina Athletics Director Ray Tanner’s squad rallied for eight runs in the “extra” eighth inning for a 13-12 final. CHARLESTON, SC March 17, 2014 – The College of Charleston softball team’s game with Georgia Southern has been postponed due to inclement weather and unplayable field conditions at Patriots Point. The coaches plan to reschedule the game, originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 18, but no makeup date has been set at this point. The Cougars will now prepare for a trip to Newark, Del., for their first-ever Colonial Athletic Association series against Delaware. The Cougars and Blue Hens are set for a three-game series over the weekend with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 22 and single-game series finale on Sunday, March 23. The action at the UD Softball Stadium is scheduled for 12 p.m. on both days.
CONWAY, SC March 16, 2014 – The College of Charleston softball team’s Sunday contests have been canceled due to inclement weather systems in the area. The Cougars were slated to face Fordham and Georgia State at the CCU Softball Complex as part of the Chanticleer showcase. CofC will now return to action on Tuesday, March 18 when the Cougars play host to former Southern Conference rival Georgia Southern. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
