South Carolina Gamecocks Volleyball Set for Garnet & Black Match

COLUMBIA, SC August 22, 2014 — The South Carolina volleyball team will have the opportunity to play in front of Gamecock fans for the first time in 2014 on Saturday in its annual Garnet and Black Match. The scrimmage is set to begin at 3 p.m. at the Volleyball Competition Facility. Doors will open to the public at 2, and admission to the event is free. A meet and greet with the team will be held after the match, allowing fans to get autographs and pictures. CLEMSON, SC August 12, 2014 – A total of 39 Clemson men’s soccer, women’s soccer and volleyball games this fall are scheduled for broadcast on ESPN3, the league’s regional sports networks and Clemson’s in-house broadcast team of TigerCast, the Atlantic Coast Conference and Clemson athletics announced today. CHARLESTON, SC August 11, 2014 – Just over eight months removed from their memorable victory in the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament Final at the North Charleston Convention Center, the College of Charleston volleyball team returned to the court this past weekend at TD Arena to begin preparation for their 2014 campaign. The Cougars opened preseason camp on Friday with an early morning team meeting with representatives from compliance, academics and The College’s athletic training staff before taking team photos and competing in an intra-squad scrimmage. CHARLESTON, SC July 29, 2014 – The College of Charleston volleyball program has tabbed six former standouts for the 2014 Wall of Fame Induction Class, head coach Jason Kepner announced Tuesday. Former players Alisa Long (2000-03), Sara Davis (2001-04), Cole Dawley (2007-10), Sarah Havel (2008-11), Elyse Chubb (2008-11) and Darcy Dorton (2012-13) were all selected for this year’s Wall of Fame.   The six players span over a decade of volleyball excellence as they combined for 11 conference championships and six NCAA tournament appearances. SURF CITY, NC Feb. 21, 2014 – 1 + 2 = 3 spring sports programs for teens through Surf City Parks & Recreation!  The newest is an extension of Surf City Volleyball with a brand new Teen League on Saturday mornings. Games , start March 29 with a pre-season scrimmage on Saturday, March 22 to get everyone warmed up and ready to set and spike. Teen Volleyball (for ages 12-17) will run according to modified USVBA rules in a co-ed setting. While individual registration is $50 for eight games and a post-season tournament, team registration is only $250 (7-10 players).
