COLUMBIA, SC June 24, 2014 – The South Carolina Chapter of Uplifting Athletes will hold its second Lift For Life event Thursday, June 26 from 6-7 p.m. at the USC Fieldhouse. Lift For Life is the signature fundraising event for the Uplifting Athletes nationwide network of 25 college football student-athlete led chapters. Gamecocks Place 44 on SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll

COLUMBIA, SC April 23, 2013 – A total of 44 South Carolina student-athletes from the basketball and swimming/diving teams earned spots on the Southeastern Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll. The list includes 466 members who achieved a minimum 3.00 grade point average for the Spring, Summer and Fall 2012 semesters from the league’s 14 schools. Women’s swimming and diving led the way for the Gamecocks with 26 members of the team earning a spot on the honor roll. South Carolina’s total entries on the list ranked third among the league’s 14 schools, trailing just Kentucky (49) and Alabama (48), both of which field a team in at least one more sport than South Carolina does. Columbia, SC March 8, 2013 – With all the regular season head to head competitions between South Carolina and Clemson complete for 2012-13, the Gamecocks have secured a win in the all-sports series for the sixth straight year. So far in 2012-13 South Carolina has beaten Clemson eight times with the Tigers coming out on top just four times. The Gamecocks have defeated the Tigers more times each year since 2007-08. In 2006-07 the two programs split at an even 7-7. Clemson has not had the edge over Carolina since the 2005-06 season. COLUMBIA, S.C. Dec. 12, 2012 – University of South Carolina junior forward Bradlee Baladez has earned NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) All-South Third Team honors, as announced by the organization this week. This is the second-career selection for the Dallas, Texas, native. In the history of South Carolina soccer, 45 student-athletes have combined for 70 NSCAA Regional honors, and at least one student-athlete has garnered an All-South award in every season since the 1983 campaign.
